Obituary of Arthur James Newell

NEWELL, Arthur James - 85, Canso, passed away July 14, 2005, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Richardson) Newell. He was a retired fisherman and an avid hunter. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Mabel Swaine; daughters, Donna (Wayne) Gurney, Little Dover; Natalie (Fred) Rhynold, Antigonish; April (Eddie) Keefe, Canso; sons, Eugene (Sandra), Gary (Dorothy), Gord (Debbie), all of Canso; Darin (Kelly), Whitehead; sister, Delta O'Brien, Wolfville. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Elsie, Hazel, Aleta; brothers, Everette, Donald, Robert, Basil. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso, Rev.
