Obituary of Stanley Neil MacKay
MacKAY, Stanley Neil - 82, Whycocomagh, died Friday, May 6, 2005, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. He was born in Dunakin, Inverness Co., son of the late John Dan and Mary (Buchanan) MacKay. Stanley was a retired employee of the Department of Lands and Forests, Whycocomagh Park. For the past 2 years, he was a resident of Inverary Manor, Inverness, where he received excellent care. A member of the Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh for many years, Stanley was caretaker of the Stewart United Church and the Stewartdale Cemetery. He is survived by sisters, Annie Morrison, Whycocomagh; Laura (Morrison) MacInnis, Halifax; Catherine Gillis, New Glasgow; Edna MacLeod, Sussex, N.B.; Patricia (Thomas) MacLeod, Blues Mills; brothers, Kenneth (Shirley), Hamilton, Ont.; Morrison (Emily), Whycocomagh; Willie, River Denys; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Johanna MacDonald; brothers, Earl, Norman, Winston and D.J.
Visitation was held Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Stewart United Church with Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial will be in Stewartdale Cemetery. Donations in memory of Stanley may be made to the Stewartdale Cemetery, Inverary Manor, Inverness or a charity of choice.
